Upcoming Activities!

Hello Parents! I hope many of you start visiting our blog frequently. I will attempt to always have upcoming events and activities listed on here just so you'll know to look for SOMETHING to be coming home from your child's back pack. Some things I thought I would go ahead and put on here are:
1. Special Days! We will be having another special days on Friday, October 23, 2009. For one dollar your child can get a lemonade, air head, and tattoo!!
2. The students LOVED making and presenting space projects, so we are going to do something similar for nocturnal animals. I am sending home a paper this week about this and on the back will be some awesome ideas to get you started on creating a wonderful project on a creature of the night! These will be due October 29th.
3. We are going to be having a halloween food experience and need about 4 volunteers to help "Man" the centers. If you would be interested, I would love to have you join us! I will also need some food supplies so look for a note to come home in your child's B.E.A.C.H. Binder!
4. AR scores are already improving dramatically! Remember that only one book HAS to be read, but some students are enjoying getting two stickers a day so I am definitely encouraging two books rather than discouraging. I realize that family time is important and that two books can really take up a lot of time, but books can always be integrated into family time!

I think that's all for now! This is just another way to help get information to parents so stop by frequently and check out what we have going on!! Have a great day!!

Alice in wonderland

When the bunny and Alice went down the rabbit hole it was cool! The room went flashing & they had a umbrella .Alice wanted to get out of there. It was funny when the queen sang off with your heads ,she danced with the music she said she saw someone picking there nose. She said off with your head disgusting. That play was so FUNNY! All the target kids loved it.I wish we could go see it again.

Twas the Day Before Report Cards...

...and all through the class,
everyone's reading and writing in hopes that they pass.
The teacher's are grading and rushing through
all of the homework and test grading too.
Tomorrow's the day that the truth will come out
As teachers, we hope the kids cheer...and not pout!
But overall you must look and say
"This is the first nine weeks of four so keep working and you'll be OK!"
~L. Holemon, 2009

Everyone has been working so diligently in the classroom learning about nocturnal animals. We have focused on Stellaluna for reading and science activities. We have also been looking at bat poems and halloween activities. We will be continuing our nocturnal studies for the next two weeks as we look at owls, wolves, and creepy crawly spiders! Tomorrow report cards go home so check BEACH binders and back packs for them!

Trial Run

Good Afternoon! This is going to be a new (and exciting) learning experience for me, my students, and my parents. I am planning ::fingers crossed:: that this will be a great tool for parents to be able to check on what is happening in the classroom, let parents and classroom friends know what is happening in the future, and allow my Target students to express their thoughts - and writing abilities - on the web. Computers, and all that they involve, are becoming the way of the world so I am hoping that this will open many doors for all my students! Enjoy!!!
